So we got to go to Blizzcon this year! In fact, we get to go to Blizzcon every year for as long as I work at Blizzard! It was pretty awesome too. We got great seats in the main auditorium for the opening ceremony announcements. One of my favorite was the Battle of Azeroth expansion coming to WoW! Also I get to be in the credits!! Yay! My second favorite thing was the new map and hero announced for Overwatch. She looks really cool and who doesn’t love a theme park! I know Sammy was particularly excited for the WoW classic announcement.
It was also really cool to see all the fans and general Blizzard community. There was so much passion and cosplay. It was really cool to see and meet everyone there. I worked a booth, as part of getting a free ticket this is required for all Blizzard employees. Most people have some choice in the day and booth they are working, but I was hired after all of that was determined so they just put me in the pet adoption booth at the Darkmoon Faire. Basically, it’s where you buy Blizzard plushies. My job was easy so I had time to really communicate with the fans. Basically, when someone made an order, I would bag it. There was several of us bagging so I just worked with a single cashier. It really wasn’t that bad. I also worked the Saturday night so all I really missed was the concert which I didn’t care about anyway. Plus, I could still see it on a screen near the booth.
Overall, we had a really good time and are looking forward to going back next year.
