I got a new job! At my dream studio, Blizzard!! I can’t believe how short of a time it actually took for me to get a job here. A job I’m actually really excited about and truly think that I will enjoy. I’m going to be a Research Scientist on the Global Insights team. The main area I will be working on is anti-toxicity across all of Blizzard’s games. Almost every game that Blizzard puts out has some kind of social, online component and therefore are subject to corruption by those who want to destroy the game community. I think it is a super interesting and complex problem to work on. Honestly, I’m also a little nervous if I’m going to stack up and be good enough to work there. I really hope it works out for the best.
On the related note, it also means that we are moving out of the bay area. This is the only part of the new job that I’m a little upset about. I really like the bay area and the culture of it; I know that Sammy is sad we never lived in the city. Where we are moving is far enough a way from LA that is super suburban and cookie cutter. It’s safe and cute though so hopefully that works out. I’m excited for the move and what’s to come in the future.
