So Illidan proved in NEED of puppy classes. He wasn’t picking up on housebreaking and we have a huge problem with him barking at other people and dogs when we bring him out. So we were really happy that we signed him up for classes. We have now gone through 6 weeks of puppy I and he graduated. Not only did he graduate but he got Most Improved and did the best on the graduation test. We are so proud of him. He’s even gone weeks without an accident now.
Despite his progress though, he does still have problems with barking at new people and dogs which makes walks difficult. And being in an apartment, we have no choice but to walk him. So we signed him up for puppy II. He is the only one signed up for puppy II at the moment so he may be getting private lessons. We are really hoping that they will go just as well and he will make the needed progress on barking too. More updates to come.
Oh, and funny story, he's teacher never did figure out how to say Illidan. She was consistently getting it wrong or asking us how to say it. Eventually, she just started calling him nicknames like monkey. This ended up in him having the wrong name, i.e. Illiad, on his graduation certificate.
