We got in our Save the Dates. I’m really excited about them too. We made them ourselves in Photoshop to mimic a WoW quest. Getting creative in designing them was a lot of fun. Plus I learned a lot of new Photoshop skills along the way. Playing WoW together is one of Sami’s and my favorite pastimes, especially with the new Legion expansion. It just seemed natural to incorporate it into the wedding as well. Hint: expect to see more of this type of thing in the future; remember our theme, Embrace your inner geek. I was also able to find nerdy Star Trek stamps for the envelopes. It’s classic Star Trek, which I’ll admit we never watched, but we are a fan of the newer Star Trek’s like Next Generation so I still think it counts.

We used Vistaprint to print the Save the Dates on the magnets. That was a bit of a nightmare; I would likely use a different company if I had to do it all over again. First when trying to upload it to their website, it became clear that we would need to add a background of some sort. This is why it is on a galaxy background (although I think that came out well actually). Unfortunately that wasn’t the worst part, the shipping was. It wasn’t expensive to get them shipped to us, but they didn’t really care about the package either. The Save the Dates and envelopes were thrown in a tiny, thin box and sent UPS. By the time I got it, the box was all squashed in on one side so some of the Save the Dates were crinkled on the bottom. Also, some of the white envelopes had black smudges on them. The good news, I ordered some extra so could use the better ones. It’s still kind of ridiculous that I had to cherry pick them though. What if I had ordered exactly the amount I needed? Overall, I don’t recommend them to anyone in the future.

Well, I’m sure you found out about the website because of the Save the Date if you are reading this. Therefore, I hope you liked them and found them even a little entertaining. I know we did, and we enjoyed putting in the work to make them exactly what we wanted.
