A couple things about me: 1. I love to cook/bake 2. I’m a bleeding heart.  So when I found out that some of my friends were going to be alone over Thanksgiving, I knew I’d found a great excuse to cook so much more than I would have done. And cook I did. I made 2 roast chickens (so much better than turkey, why do people get obsessed with them), roasted carrots, parsnips, and fennel (parsnips really scream holidays for me), green bean casserole (actually made by Sami), and homemade apricot and ginger bread (I’ve really been into making my own bread lately; I’m sure you’ll see more recipes for our Winterveil meal). For dessert I made fruit cake cookies (Everyone seemed to like these, but me so I probably won’t make them again), orange and cardamom shortbread cookies (these were my favorite; I will make these again and again), cranberry meringue pie (I would make this again next year), and pumpkin bread (it’s a staple). We barely had any leftovers so I really think it went over well.

We invited over a few of our friends. First, we invited Stephen and Sarah who used to work with Sami, but recently moved near us. They also brought mashed potatoes and gravy and chocolate pie. Next, I invited two of my co-workers, Ryan brought broccoli and cauliflower au gratin and Peter brought some beer. After eating, we all played board games together. We played Mysterium and I was the ghost, and everybody won!! It was an awesome day.
