I finally had time to make a bento again! I know it’s been awhile with our huge vacations then holidays and moving all at the end of the year. So it was really nice to finally have time to make this again

The main component in this bento is the bathing cat. The bath is made of chicken tikka marsala, and the cat is made from short grain rice (both made in my instant pot, check out the blog post). The facial features were nori punches put with a cutter.

I also made a flaky flatbread. This was just a basic dough (flour, baking powder, salt, and water) and a lot of butter rolled and frozen together before grilling on both sides. This is delicious but I’m really worried about how it’ll hold up all week. However, I’d totally make this again if I was cooking chicken tikka marsala for company.

On the side I have edamame and sausages. The sausages were supposed to be shaped like octopuses but I bought a different kind and it really didn’t work out. :( I guess that’s why you shouldn’t cheap out on sausage.

For dessert I made homemade lemon bars. These were actually a way of dealing with leftover citrus (check out the blog post here).

That’s it for this week. Hope you like this bento!!

Edit: i was right about the bread. It definitely does not hold up even 24 hours, let alone all week. I’m happy to have the experience in making it, but I think in the future, I will try a different type of bread.
