Owl Meatballs and Inari Bears
So this is one of my first bento boxes working at Blizzard so I wanted to go for maximum cuteness (you know I wanted to show off a little bit). So I decided to go with one of my early successes, inari bears. These are simple but effective at maximizing the adorable factor. If you want more information on how to make it, I recommend you check out my inari bears post.
For my protein, I wanted to try something new. I made a meatball into an owl. I did this by making BBQ turkey meatballs with pineapple chunks. The BBQ sauce helped to gibe the meatballs that dark brown color reminiscent of an owl. I then used a round piece of white cheese. I cut out a ‘V’ from the top of the circle to give it a more traditional owl face shape. I then used yellow cheese to make the beak and sesame seeds for the eyes. I had brought extra BBQ sauce, but honestly didn’t even use it.
To have some veggies, I cut bell peppers into into bunny shapes, cucumbers into strips, and boiled edamame. I also brought grapes for dessert which were at the peak of season so added a lovely sweet taste to the meal.
I got a lot of likes at work for these bentos, but I think I may also have set myself up to make lunches like this all the time now. I’m going to have to read some more tutorials and really step it up now; I’m excited what I’ll come up with.
